In a matter of days, friends and family will gather around kitchen and dining room tables to celebrate Thanksgiving. There will be food – lots of food – and maybe some football, too.
But we hope that you and yours will pause and take time to consider and share with each other what you are all thankful for.
Here in the Lakes Region of Northwest Iowa, we truly have so much to be thankful for. We thought we would share with you some of the countless blessings the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation and Get A Lakes Life teams are thankful for this Thanksgiving.
We are thankful that the communities we live in have seen many recent successes this past year. Though the list is too long to include here, every new business, business expansion, housing development and other community initiatives are reasons to give thanks. We are grateful for the leadership, community partners and citizen interest that goes into every new opportunity and development that happens in our region.
We are thankful that our communities have excellent schools that set up our children for future success, whether that’s by preparing them for the next steps along their education journeys or by equipping them with the skills they need to enter the workforce right out of high school. Our schools are blessed with incredibly inspirational and innovative education professionals who truly want the best for our children.
We are thankful that our communities are safe. Crime is low thanks to the dedicated law enforcement officers who are dedicated to serving and protecting these towns we all love so much.
We are thankful for our employers, both large and small, who help us provide for the families we’ll be spending time with this holiday season. We appreciate every member of the business community who is committed to seeing businesses succeed, whether they have been established for decades or are still being dreamed up by one of our region’s many entrepreneurial minds.
We are thankful for the many recreational opportunities that help our area stand out and attract visitors no matter the season. We are grateful for our region’s strong tourism industry and those who lead it. It’s undeniably what helps our entire region succeed.
Finally, we are thankful to be able to live in Northwest Iowa, a beautiful region filled with neighbors who watch out for each other, help each other and every day make this area such a great place to live. We’re thankful for our Community Champions and everyone who has chosen to make this their home this holiday season and we sincerely hope that they will continue to do so for many years to come.
(And share with others how they, too, can #GetALakesLife!)
So, with all that in mind, the Get A Lakes Life team wants to wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving.
