Lakes Life Story: The Daileys

Jenni Daily and her family moved to the lakes of northwest Iowa region form western Nebraska.

With countless opportunities for fun and entertainment, Jenni, a program manager at Rembrandt Foods in Spirit Lake, says her family loves their lakes life.

“Being here in the lakes area has really given us a lot of opportunities to do different things that we wouldn’t have had in western Nebraska,” she says. “To be outside, and we love the walking trails. We love Arnolds Park. I think we spent every weekend last year at Arnolds Park.”

Aside from the abundance of things to do, Jenni says they love the people.

“I personally just love the feeling of community, that closeness,” she says. “You know your neighbors.”

Jenni says her family is never bored in the lakes of northwest Iowa. They spend lots of time on bike trails.

“If you haven’t experienced life in the lakes area of northwest Iowa, you are missing out and you absolutely need to come check this place out. It is unbelievable.”

They’ve also been able to take advantage of entertainment not always available in other places.

“My daughter loves the hockey rink,” Jenni says. “Last year, for the first time ever, she learned how to ice skate and then played rookie hockey.”

For those considering a move here, Jenni has a clear message:

“If you haven’t experienced life in the lakes area of northwest Iowa, you are missing out and you absolutely need to come check this place out,” she says. “It is unbelievable.”
